"Hairy Bunny"

Commentary

Hairy Bunny is a weird creature. Perhaps at first glance you did not realize it was a bunny, an abstracted bunny. Perhaps only after seeing the title did you recognize what it's intended to be. Like the majority of my work, I venture to present imagery that warrants more than just a casual glance to comprehend.

Parts of Hairy Bunny might remind you of something cute and lovable, but the hair stubble and finger-like ears may suggest something else; there is something slightly perverted about the image that you might not be able to put your finger on.

Hairy Bunny could be a subconscious self-portrait. In some ways, I have tried to retain the innocence of childhood, but the procession of life and various experiential traumas have left me with only fragmented memories of the past; nostalgic flashbacks of a time when things weren't so disappointing or fucked up.
